Beschreibung: 'Portrait of the Spanish Painter Celso Lagar ' (1915, oil on canvas, private collection), a sculptor and painter of landscapes, taverns, circus scenes and a series of paintings inspired by works of Cezanne, Goya and Picasso, whose life and work were distinctly separated by the two World Wars (1891-1966). 'Bride and Groom' ('The Newlyweds', 1915-1916, oil on canvas, The Museum of Modern Arts, New York, USA), is a famous portrait by Amedeo Modigliani, influenced by Cubism, with elegant elongated facial features and almond shapes of the asymmetrically placed eyes, like his sculptures with sharp edges.
