Beautiful shot of Siberian jays by the photographer and naturalist Fabrizio Moglia. He was born in Turin in 1963 and since small is admired by Nature, influenced by the 'exotic' stories of his great-grandfather, who was a South America wildlife expert.
He becomes a self taught precise observer of the habits of animals in their environments and loves to portray the different species with attention to the details.
The Siberian jay is resident in the northern boreal spruce, pine, cedar and larch forests stretching from Scandinavia to northern Russia and Siberia.
Although the Siberian jays are not cooperative breeders, as the climate becomes more unpredictable, many birds are oriented towards living in family groups to assist other birds in the care and protection of young. Their main winter food are the hidden buried acorns.
