Great Mormon Butterfly Female - The Great Mormon (Papilio memnon) is a large swallowtail butterfly with a wingspan of up to 150 mm that belongs to the family Papilionidae, widespread throughout Southeast Asia, India, China, Taiwan, southern Japan, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.<br />
It flies up to 2,100 meters in the Himalayas, but is also seen at lower sea level amongst the human habitation.<br />
Adults inhabit forest clearings and are feeding by nectar from a variety of flowering species as poinsettia, jasmine, canna, and salvia. Larvae feed on citrus plants.<br />
The male and female species of Great Mormon look in different way.
