A fragment from the 'Portrait of Paul Alexandre against a Green Background' (1909, oil on canvas, private collection, an early work of Amedeo Modigliani, influenced by Toulouse Lautrec and Paul Cezanne), a medical doctor, a first promoter, collector and patron of Modigliani, who admired by his paintings and supports the Italian artist until 1914, before he went to the army. Dr. Alexandre was buying and collects up to 25 paintings and 450 drawings by Modigliani, which were published in 1990.
