'Cinderella' or 'The Little Glass Slipper, is a folk tale with thousands of variants throughout the world. The most well-known version was recorded by the German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in the 19th century. The tale is called 'Aschenputtel' ('The Little Ash Girl' or 'Cinderella' in English translations). Another famous story is from the book 'Cendrillon' (1697) by the French author Charles Perrault (1628-1703).
