These traditional Easter eggs with hand crafted decorations of melted coloured wax are real eggs of dwarf chickens, called 'Bantam', which have the smallest eggs (about 1.5 inches). The true small Bantams breeds, such as the Sebright, Dutch and Pekin, have more varied and exotic colours and pattern design of the feathers than the other chickens and therefore have become popular as pets and as birds for a show.
