'Felix Crousse' (Paeonia lactiflora) is incredibly popular and beloved garden Peony by generations of gardeners.
It is introduced in 1881 and is noted by the American Peony Society as one of the best red varieties, for its crimson color.
The peonies 'Felix Crousse' bloom late spring to early summer for approximately 7-10 days, with plentiful large, fragrant double blossoms. They are excellent in bouquets of cut flowers with a long vase life (over a week) if cut in the bud.
'Felix' comes from a Latin word meaning 'happy, lucky'.
