Halloween is a celebration observed on October 31, mostly in the English-speaking countries of Great Britain, Ireland, Canada and the United States. Many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic ritual Samhain and is one day before the celebration of the Catholic day of All Saints.
Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, attending costumed parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
