'Transfiguration' (1824), a painting by the Russian artist Alexander Andreevich Ivanov (1806-1858). The painter, trained at the St. Petersburg Academy, depicts the moment of transfiguration of Christ on Mount Tabor before the Apostles Peter, James and John in bright white clothes and a shining like sun face, recorded in three of the four Gospels.
