Ethno-pop singer Ishtar Alabina (Esther Zach), was born in Kiryat Atta, Israel on November 10, 1967, with Moroccan and Egyptian parents. Her stage name 'Ishtar' is taken from the name of the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility, love, and war. She is known as a lead singer of French-based group Alabina, that performs a mix of world's music of Middle East in arabic, french, hebrew, english and Gypsy songs in spanish.
