These constructions in shape of pyramids on the plateau of Giza are a complex of ancient monuments, which lies on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. This Egyptian necropolis, which is build around 2500 BC as monumental tombs, consists of the three big edifices, as the Pyramid of Khufu (Great Pyramid or the Pyramid of Cheops), Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as several smaller accompanying structures, known as 'queens' pyramids and the Sphinx, facing east.
