A couple, dressed in amazingly sophisticated white costumes and traditional Venetian masks, pose for the tourists on Sestiere Castello (Castle, a district of Venice), during the annual Carnival of Venice (Carnevale di Venezia) in Italy. The Venetian masks are unique, which makes impossible to identify the social status of the mask's wearer. The image of the masked reveller during the winter festival has become a worldwide icon of Venice.
