Wonderful Bridges Western Rhodopes Bulgaria Description: 
Bottom view of the Big Bridge and river Erkyupriya, one of the two rock bridges called 'Wonderful Bridges', situated in the karst valley of the river Erkyupriya in the Western Rhodopes at 1,450 m above sea level at the foot of Big Persenk peak. 'Wonderful Bridges' (marble bridges) are a rock phenomenon, formed by the erosion in the past. Largest is about 15 m wide and long almost 100 m with three arches, the largest has a height of 45 m and width of 40 m. The small bridge is impassable, long 60 m, with a total height of 50 m. The area around the two bridges is covered with conifer forests consisting mainly of spruce trees. Both bridges are safe and suitable for tourist purposes.
