Kulich, the sweet Easter bread topped with a glaze of sugar, which represents a dome of church with snow on it, decorated with flowers, dotted with raisins, nuts and candied citrus rind and the a wide variety of beautifully adorned eggs are very popular during the religious Christian ceremonies in Orthodox Russia and Ukraine. Kulich is a symbol of atonement on the cross by Jesus Christ. Traditionally, Kulich is eaten during the 40 days following Easter until Pentecost.
