Indian Red Admiral (Vanessa indica), called also Asian Admiral in the United States, is a beautiful butterfly widespread in the regions of India with high altitude (above 2000 feet). It is a close relative of the Painted Lady. In spite of that this butterfly is not accepted as a pest, its larvae are causing considerable damage by feeding on young tender leaves, which affects the growth of the plants.
