Spring is one of the best times to enjoy the beauty of Baikal. During late February and March the weather is warming up, but the Siberian wilderness is still sleeping. The Baikal lake is frozen, covered by solid winter ice between 50 cm and 80 cm thick and crystal clear, so you can see rocks and other objects at the bottom of the lake as far as 40 m below
