Sakura means 'Cherry Blossom', a flower of many trees of genus Prunus. The most well-known species is the Japanese cherry, Prunus serrulata, which is commonly called sakura. The cherry blossom, or Sakura, is a national flower of Japan and symbolizes the transience of life, the time of renewal and optimism at the ending of winter and the beginning of spring.
