The wild Hyacinth (Hyacinthus Orientalis, Common Hyacinth) is a natural form, native of Turkey and the Middle East, whose flowers open fully and look like little starfishes.
The hyacinth flower is a lovely cool weather perennial plant formerly considered related to the lily. Growing wild in parts of Iran and Turkmenistan next to the Caspian Sea, these outstanding garden plants with highly fragrant flowers have evolved into a favorite floral decoration of the spring garden.
