In Bulgaria, Palm Sunday, the a great and joyful Christian holiday is known as Cvetnica, Tsvetnitsa (from 'flower'), Vrabnitsa (from 'willow') or Flower's Day. People with flower-related names celebrate this day as their name day.
On this day of service in the churches, Christians hold in their hands blessed willow twigs that replace the palm twigs - as if they were meeting their Savior again.
Priests are blessing the twigs and flowers brought by believers. After worship, Christians take them to their homes for health and disease and evil prevention.
