This picture of the frost covered haul truck CAT 793 with 240 ton carrying capacity, that looks like an ice sculpture, was taken from Ekati Mine up North Canada, during a particularly bad winter blizzard in January of 2008, and first published on a blog post on July 9, 2008.
The Ekati Diamond Mine is Canada's first surface and underground diamond mine, operated by Arctic Canadian Diamond. Officially it began production in October 1998, estimated to be able to supply diamonds for 25 years.
Ekati diamond mine is located 200 km south of the Arctic Circle, near Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories of Canada, about 300 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife.
