This postcard, is from a set of six card 'MERRY SNOW TIME', a collection of antique postcards by Raphael Tuck & Sons, the world's largest postcard publisher, started his business in Bishopsgate in the City of London in 1866.
During the London Blitz of the Second World War the company headquarters was destroyed, including the originals for most of their series. The company never fully recovered.
Today, TuckDB Postcards is a free database of antique postcards in an attempt to recreate those lost records, offering a unique visual history of life in the late 19th and early 20th century.
