The female twin cubs of the endangered South China tigers were born on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2021, at the South China Tiger Breeding Research Base in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province. As only about 200 South China Tigers exist nationwide, all in captivity, the species is under first-class state protection in China.
The two cute tiger cubs turn one month old, just in time for the Lunar Chinese New Year, the Year of the Tiger (on Tuesday, 1 February, 2022).
