Imperial 'Peacock Egg', made by Dorofeiev under the supervision of the Russian jeweller Peter Carl Faberge in 1908, from jewelled and rock crystal, commissioned by Tsar Nicholas II, as gift for Easter of his mother, the Dowager Empress Maria Fyodorovna. The surprise is a mechanical peacock of gold and enamel, among branches with flowers made of enamel and precious stones, which on a flat surface, moves the head and tail.
