A detail of a stained-glass window from St. Edward’s Church in Seattle, Washington, which depicts Jesus with his mother Mary and her husband Joseph, on their way to Egypt. Christmas is marked on the 25 December (7 January for Orthodox Christians) and is the Christian Holy day that marks the birth of Jesus, the son of God. Christmas remains the biggest holiday in the calendar. Christmas Day is a Christian festival, which today it is a largely secular holiday, celebrated with church service late on Christmas Eve and exchange of gifts on Christmas day.
