Blue Moon Wisteria

Blue Moon Wisteria - Rating: Rating:

Blue Moon Wisteria Description:
A close up view of wisteria 'Blue Moon' in bloom with long clusters of lavender blue flowers, climbing and hanging over the fence, that fill the air with a delightful sweet, intense, and very addictive fragrance.
The 'Blue Moon' wisteria (Wisteria Macrostachya) is a perennial deciduous climbing vine, which is often grown as an alternative to the more invasive Japanese and Chinese wisteria varieties.
While the Chinese wisteria just blooms in spring, the 'Blue Moon' wisteria often blooms three times a year - a major blooming in late spring-early summer before the leaves emerge, followed by additional blooms in summer and often again in early fall.
The common name for Wisteria Macrostachya is Kentucky wisteria, that is native to the swampy lowlands of the southern USA, ranging from Louisiana and Texas north to Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Oklahoma.
