Pink Camellia Japonica Description:
Picturesque blossoms of Camellia Japonica 'April Remembered' of the 'April Series, developed and introduced at the University of North Carolina, that come in a color range from white to pink and red.
Camellia Japonica is a fast growing, cold hardy shrub which blooms heavily with semi-double, large, soft pink flowers which emerge in December-March indoor and April-June in the open field.
Camellias appeared in Europe in the 15th century. It is believed that a tea merchant brought them instead of tea bushes, as both were marked with the hieroglyph 'cha'.
Camellia (In Latin Camelia) is a plant of the Tea family (Theaceae), named in memory of the Czech missionary and botanist Georg Josef Kamel (1661-1706).
