The mushroom Boletus Edulis is a basidiomycete fungus, widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, it does not occur naturally in the Southern Hemisphere.
There are many boletes, some are edible (known as Porcini), that can be found fresh or dried are utilized for their earthy, meaty flavor in recipes for Italian pasta and rice dishes, soups and sauces.
