'Vision of the Prophet Jesekius' by Fyodor Bruni, is one of the ceiling fresco in the St.Isaacs Cathedral in St.Peterburg, Russia. The painting on theme of the Old Testament, is with an area of 250 sq.m., is located of the central vault of the west nave.
The St.Isaacs Cathedral was built between 1818 and 1858 by the French-born architect Auguste Montferrand. The height of 101.5 meters, and the gilded dome with diameter of 22 m, visible even from the Gulf of Finland, make the cathedral one of the most beautiful and remarkable Christian constructions not only in Russia but also in the world. The interior of the cathedral with the area totals 4,000 square meters, can accommodate 14,000 people.
The Cathedral was decorated with one hundred fifty religious paintings from Fyodor Bruni, Karl Briullov, Vasily Shebuyev and three hundred statues and bas-reliefs by Ivan Vitali.
To create the mosaic icons, paintings, and columns were utilized 900 pounds of gold, 16 tons of malachite, 1100 pounds of lapis lazuli, and 1,000 tons of bronze.
