Beautiful fireworks at night above skyscrapers and the Sheraton hotel on the right, with reflection on water, in the Dafna district of Doha City Center, Qatar.
The district’s eastern end has several iconic tall buildings as the Tornado Tower with hyperbolic shape and a crosshatched facade. The building has programmable illumination capable of creating 35,000 unique moving light shows. As well as The Burj Doha or Doha Tower with perfect bullet shape and pretty lacework wrapped around the structure, resembling mashrabiya, Islamic sunscreens that are quite effective in Qatar’s high temperatures.
Stretching along the shoreline of Doha, the Al Dafna district is a highlight of any visit to Qatar’s capital city. Most famous is the La Corniche Street, a pretty promenade following the shore on land reclaimed from the Persian Gulf and peaceful Al Dafna Park, very lovely refreshing area, full of palm trees, fountains, playgrounds and cafes. On one side it is facing to the Gulf of Doha with beautiful views and across the street, there are lots of unique upscale skyscrapers.
